Jamba Juice: Matcha Green Tea Blast
Inspired by a fellow foodie's blog, I've decided to revive this blog and continue my quests for good food.
Disappointed with the closure of Lucy's Tea House in Mountain View, I've been feeling a bit empty inside like something was missing. I miss their Tea Floats with Green Tea Ice Cream so much it aches. I wish they were still open. If only they weren't located in a dark alley without any signs...
I was very excited when I found out about two new refreshing green tea drinks, the Green Tea Frappuccino at Starbucks and the Matcha Green Tea Smoothie at Jamba Juice. I had a sample of the Green Tea Frappuccino at the San Francisco Marathon Expo and was rather disappointed in its taste.
On a recent trip to Jamba Juice, I saw they had a green tea smoothie. Ecstatic, I had to try it. One of the friends that I went with said it was much, much better than the Green Tea Frappuccino (which according to the same friend is much, much better in Japan). The Matcha Green Tea Smoothie is made of soymilk, sorbet, nonfat frozen yogurt, ice, matcha green tea. It maintains that green tea ice cream flavor in a smooth and creamy concoction.
Though it is still a far cry from my beloved Tea Floats, for now it is the next best thing.
